SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Buhler- the leading technology provider announced launch of an innovative sorting solution that it claims, will revolutionize bottle-to-bottle recycling. The SORTEX A GlowVision unit has already been designed, built and tested at its London factory. The new technology was unveiled during a digital event. The key feature of the sorter is that it delivers up to 40% concentration- the highest ever rate recorded so far by the industry.
Lawrence Kuhn, Head of Palstics Division at Buhler noted that the groundbreaking technology uses optical sorting techniques for sorting colours, polymers, foreign substances and labels simultaneously. The integrated digital solution guarantees ultimate efficiency and accuracy. The PET recycling companies from all over the world has shown interest in the new sorter. It performs well on a wide range of defects that may likely occur in PET streams, he added.
The sorter comes with an cloud-based integrated monitoring system that does real-time data analysis and provides performance indicators to operating personnel. This in turn will result in improved productivity and consistently higher yields. Also, it sends instant mobile alerts to operators, in case of any abnormal operation.
