The fully automatic laminating machine is considered to be the leading machine of its kind in the whole world and is expected to deliver optimal precision. It will be equipped with an extra roll stand to enable it to also run reel to reel. This makes it possible to use other printing methods so as to increase the size of the finished printing sheet. The machine is expected to be installed in January next year, the company said.
Per Frederiksen, CEO of Smurfit Kappa Sweden & Norway noted that the investment in the new laminating machine is an important step in fulfilling its ambition to drive the packaging industry in a more innovative and sustainable direction. The installation of the machine will require an extension of 2,000 square meters of the existing factory building in Nybro, he added.
