SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The leading S.C-based flat-rolled aluminum products manufacturer, JW Aluminum, announced that it has achieved prestigious Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) performance standard certification across its entire operations. The company’s South Carolina and Arkansas plants are the first cast rolling facilities in the entire U.S. to be certified with ASI’s Version 3.0 standard.
The certification was secured after assessment of the facilities’ adherence to the ASI’s environmental, social, and governance requirements and practices by undergoing rigorous third party audits. The ASI’s Performance Standard Version 3 outlines stricter principles and eligibility criteria for a vast array of sustainability factors.
Ryan Roush, COO at JW Aluminum stated that the company is proud on the unique achievement. This further testifies the company’s inherently circular business model and the high levels of integrity and accountability in every facet of its operations.
Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer, ASI congratulated JW Aluminum on achieving the key certification milestone. It demonstrates the company’s commitment to responsible manufacturing processes, Solomon added.
The ASI is an industry-led initiative that aims to promote sustainability throughout the aluminum value chain.
