SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The most current weekly domestic production data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) shows a 2.9% decline in U.S. weekly raw steel production for the week ending November 30, 2024. This is in comparison with the same week the previous year.
Over the course of the week, the United States produced 1.638 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel. The utilization rate of the domestic mill capabilities was 73.8%. It is vital to keep in mind that output reached 1.687 million NT during the same week last year, with a little lower capacity utilization rate of 73.4%.

The production of crude steel also decreased by a slight 1.0% from the week before. With a capability utilization rate of 74.5%, 1.655 million NT were produced in the preceding week, which ended on November 23, 2024.
With 690,000 net tons, the Southern region produced the most. 544,000 net tons were generated during the week in the Great Lakes region. North East-127, Midwest-227, and Western-50 are the other regions' productions (in thousand net tons).
As of November 30, 2024, the adjusted year-to-date output was 80.517 million net tons, with a capability utilization rate of 75.8%. This represents a 2.3% decrease from the 82.422 million net tons of production and 76.1% capacity utilization rate recorded during the same period in 2023.
