DS Smith Partners with Tremble to Drive Digitalisation at Paper Mills

The advanced data visualisation and manipulation tools offered by the online platform are expected to deliver more consistent and higher-performance production process.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): DS Smith announced that it has partnered with Tremble to offer digitalisation at its paper mills. The company successfully launched Wedge- the data mining solutions platform by Tremble at its Kemsley, Kent paper mill. The advanced data visualisation and manipulation tools offered by the online platform are expected to deliver more consistent and higher-performance production process.

The platform collects, analyses and stores thousands of data-points every second, which in turn will help technicians and operators to arrive at informed operational decisions. It will help to quickly identify potential critical problems during runtime, thus ensuring stability of operations.

The above digitalisation platform has also been launched at DS Smith’s Viana paper mill operations in Portugal. Also, it plans to roll out the same at its Witzenhausen and Aschaffenburg mills in Germany in the near-future.

Wedge platform will bring about notable improvements in operational efficiencies, product quality and output as well as employee experience. The network of well-connected mills across the European region will ensure fast problem-solving, in addition to reducing the burden of travel, noted Guy Lacey, Next Generation Technology Director, DS Smith.
