SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): DS Smith believes in continuous investment in latest technologies, in order to provide its customers with industry-leading paper products and services. In line with the above strategy, the company has invested in 10 automated guided vehicles (AGVs) at its Kemsley Paper Mill, thereby delivering significant benefits to its customers, employees as well as the environment.
The intelligent, all-electric vehicles supplied by Rocla perform a wide range of tasks at the mill’s fully-automated warehouse. The AGVs are used to collect reels from the production conveyor, store the reels and pick them for orders. Also, these AGVs switch to housekeeping mode, whenever they are not tasked with any work.
