Smurfit Kappa Unveiled New Innovative Range of Bottle Packaging

The beverage market has witnessed significant surge in e-commerce due to Covid-19 pandemic.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The global packaging major Smurfit Kappa unveiled new and innovative range of eBottle packaging solutions for online beverages market. The new portfolio of products includes wide range of sustainable solutions for single and multi-pack products.

The beverage market has witnessed significant surge in e-commerce due to Covid-19 pandemic. As per latest data, the online sales for alcoholic beverages in Europe soared by 34%, thus driving the demand for sustainable packaging solutions to safeguard the product from damages during transit. There has been an increased demand for innovative packaging solutions that conform to highest standards.

A recent research indicates that 69% of consumers prefer paper-based packaging solutions. Nearly 59% of consumers prefer packaging that is easy to open. Also, one-tenth of consumers said that they would re-order, in case of damage.

Arco Berkenbosch, VP Innovation and Development at Smurfit Kappa Europe said that the new eBottle production range will help the beverage business to address key challenges for their e-commerce channel. The eBottle range of solutions is just one among a host of automated solutions offered by the company with the aim of optimising packaging processes, he added.
