UFP Industries Announces Major Expansion to Europe Footprint
Lately, UFP Industries has been on an expansion spree.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Grand Rapids, Michigan-based wood products company UFP Industries Inc. announced major expansion to its industrial packaging business portfolio through acquisition of Italian business. The company announced that it has made an equity investment in Milan, Italy-headquartered Enwrap Logistic & Packaging S.r.l, through its affiliate, UFP Global Holdings. With the deal, the company has established a foothold in Europe.

Dick McBride, Executive Vice President of International Operations, UFP said that the company has found a right partner in Enwrap in establishing its presence in the European region. Enwrap’s leadership position in design, manufacturing and logistics will provide the much-needed platform for them to expand throughout the continent. Enwrap’s passion and work ethics are an important cultural match with the company, he added.
Lately, UFP Industries has been on an expansion spree. It had acquired North Carolina-based Fire Retardant Chemical Technologies LLC in October this year. The latest acquisition will help the company better serve customers in Central and Southern Europe.
Enwrap is a logistics and packaging business that operates through eight different locations in Italy. The combined sales by all these locations had totalled approximately $14 million during the previous year.
