steelChallenge-19 Registrations to Open Soon, Says worldsteel

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced that the registration for steelChallenge-19 will open on September 2, 2024. The registrations are to be done at www. steeluniversity.org.

steelChallenge, a learning programme recognised by the global steel community, presents rare opportunity for students and industry professionals to showcase their talents to make the best quality steel using low-cost techniques.

According to the press release, steelChallenge-19 will be held in two rounds. The Regional Championships are scheduled to take place on 26 November, 2024 from 12.00 UTC. The participants will be given 24 hours to complete successful runs of the steelmaking simulators to produce the required steel at the lowest cost.

The competition will be conducted in two categories- student and industry, across five regions- Americas, Europe& Africa, Asia-West, Asia- North and Asia-East & Oceania. The winners of each region and category will be invited to participate in the World Championship, which is usually held along with the worldsteel Special General Meeting, thus providing the participants a unique opportunity to meet with the leading steelmakers of the world.
