worldsteel Announced steelChallenge-18 World Championship Finalists

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced steelChallenge-18 World Championship Finalists. The winners were selected from the Regional Championship held online on 29^th November 2022, which saw participation of nearly 1,649 participants from more than 50 companies and 77 academic institutions from 34 countries.

The finalists from ‘Student’ Category are: Matic Bobnar of University of Ljubljana, Joao Pedro Tabosa of Universidade Federal do Ceara, Srinivasan D of Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, Cheng Jun Han of Tangshan Vocational and Technical College of Science and Technology and Ji Hyeok Lee of Dong-A University.

Meantime, the regional champions who qualified for the finals from ‘Industry’ Category are: Katie Abraham of Tata Steel, Caio Andrade of ArcelorMittal Pecem, Mihir Mandal of Tata Steel, Wei Li Bu of HBIS Group Co. and Jinho Kang- an independent consultant, the worldsteel press release said.

The finalists will now be invited to the World Championship in April 2024. Also, all participants completing a successful run of the integrated simulator will receive a certificate of accomplishment.

The steelChallenge-18 is being supported by 14 companies and associations with the aim of promoting innovation, education and sustainability in global steel industry.
