SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has released the list of top 10 steel producing nations during the month of November this year.
China topped the list with a little 2.5% increase in output over the previous year. The country produced 78.4 million tons of crude steel during the month. The total output for the Jan-Nov '24 period of this year was 929.2 Mt, which was 2.7% less than the same eleven months last year.

India's projected output, at 12.4 Mt, represented a slight 4.5% rise over November 2023. This year, the country produced 135.9 million tons of steel between January and November. Japan's monthly output down 3.1% to 6.9 Mt, while the country's total yearly output up until November of this year was down 3.6% from the previous year to 77.1 Mt.
In comparison to the previous year, the United States produced 6.4 million tons of steel, a little decrease of 2.8%. It is expected that Russia produced 5.5 million tons. Other nations in the top ten list in terms of Mt include Iran (3.1), Brazil (2.8), Turkiye (3.0), Germany (2.9), and South Korea (5.2).
Among the top 10 steel-producing nations, Russia experienced the largest monthly reduction in steel production, falling 9.2% year over year. Germany, on the other hand, experienced the largest growth in output, at 8.6% annually.
