SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Hartsville, South Carolina-headquartered global packaging major Sonoco Inc. announced that it has partnered with Integrated Systems, Inc. (ISI)-a vertically integrated robotics and advanced automation provider. The partnership will assist Sonoco’s businesses to advance its use of automation, thus improving the company’s manufacturing operations.
As part of the new agreement, ISI will help Sonoco in developing and executing its global automation strategy. It will provide the company with custom-made robotics and automation systems. Incidentally, ISI has more than 25 years of experience in advanced automation systems. Also, it has been a trusted automation provider for Sonoco for more than 15 years now.
Rodger Fuller, Executive Vice President, Global Industrial and Consumer Packaging noted that the partnership aims to drive drastic improvements in its manufacturing operations through use of advanced automation techniques. The company has decided to dedicate capital for automation and robotics projects every year, he added.
Meantime, Bob Brown, CEO, ISI said that the company will help Sonoco work on continuous improvement for some of its more complex production issues. It will further drive advanced automation throughout Sonoco’s global operations, he added.
