September 26, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Edged Higher on the Index

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices recorded increase on ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Thursday, September 26, 2024. Brass/Bronze and Copper Scrap prices also were up from the previous day. On the contrary, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady from the prior day.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices jumped by CNY 700 per MT.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing saw price rise of CNY 700 per MT each.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 700 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices edged higher by CNY 350 per MT over the previous day. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery went higher by CNY 150 per MT when compared with the day before.

Copper Transformer scrap prices were up by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day. Cu Yokes prices also were up by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiator and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices recorded increase by CNY 150 per MT and CNY 50 per MT respectively over the day.

Heater Cores were up by CNY 250 per MT as of Thursday, September 26, 2024.

In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices were up by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed a rise of CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots prices also were up by CNY 100 per MT.

Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers went higher by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by CNY 100 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices increased by CNY 100 per MT each as of Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Also, UBC and Zorba 90%NF prices witnessed an upward movement of CNY 50 per MT each over the day.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of September 26, 2024.

Cast Iron Scrap too recorded no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were flat over the previous day.

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices also held steady on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid scrap prices witnessed no variation when compared with the prior day’s price.

310 SS prices remained flat as of September 26, 2024.

Shred SS recorded no change in prices on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China edged higher from the previous day.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were up by CNY 50 per MT as of September 26, 2024.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices too increased by CNY 100 per MT each over the day.
