SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Los Angeles-headquartered CarbonLITE Holdings LLC has announced major expansion to its Dallas recycling plant. With this, the collective processing capability of the company has touched 7 billion bottles. The expansion has significantly boosted the production of recycled content polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
The expansion includes addition of an additional extrusion line, which in turn has increased the plant’s capacity by 20%. It has helped the company in providing additional raw materials to customers, including Coca-Cola, Nestle Waters North America and PepsiCo, in order to increase the recycled plastic content in the new beverage containers manufactured by them. By doing so, the company has contributed to significant reduction in use of virgin plastics, thereby preventing 60,000 tons of carbon emissions per year.
