October 8, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Reported Mixed Trend on the Index

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices inched higher on ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Brass/Bronze and Copper Scrap prices registered decline from the previous day. Stainless Steel scrap prices increased on the Index. In the meantime, Steel scrap prices held steady from the prior day.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 1,550 per MT.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing saw a price decline of CNY 1,550 per MT.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also were down by CNY 1,550 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices edged lower by CNY 750 per MT over the previous day. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded decline by CNY 400 per MT when compared with the day before.

Copper Transformer scrap prices were down by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day. Cu Yokes prices also witnessed a decline of CNY 100 per MT on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiator and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices recorded decline by CNY 400 per MT and CNY 100 per MT respectively over the previous day’s price.

Heater Cores were down by CNY 550 per MT as of Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices dipped by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed a rise of CNY 150 per MT over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots prices too were up by CNY 150 per MT.

Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers went higher by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched higher by CNY 150 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices increased by CNY 150 per MT each as of October 8, 2024.

Also, UBC and Zorba 90%NF witnessed upward price movement by CNY 50 per MT each over the day.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of October 8, 2024.

Cast Iron Scrap too reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were up by CNY 100 per MT.

Also, 304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices increased by CNY 150 per MT each on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid scrap prices edged higher by CNY 250 per MT each when compared with the prior day.

310 SS prices were up by CNY 350 per MT as of October 8, 2024.

Shred SS prices jumped higher by CNY 150 per MT on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China edged lower from the previous day’s prices.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by CNY 100 per MT as of October 8, 2024.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices also dropped by CNY 200 per MT each over the day.
