October 25, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Mostly Dropped on the Index

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Friday, October 25, 2024, Chinese copper scrap prices declined sharply on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Aluminum and Brass/Bronze scrap prices dropped when compared with the previous day. Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher marginally on the Index. In the meantime, Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 500 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing too declined by CNY 500 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices registered a decline by CNY 250 per MT upon comparison with the previous day. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices recorded a downward movement by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices witnessed a dip by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

Cu Yokes and Harness Wire 35% Recovery scrap prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each.

Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices inched lower by CNY 100 per MT.

Heater Cores prices declined by CNY 200 per MT as of Friday, October 25, 2024.

Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices dipped by CNY 50 per MT each over the previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions declined by CNY 350 per MT in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 350 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers dipped by CNY 150 per MT each on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by CNY 350 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices inched lower by CNY 350 per MT each as of October 25, 2024.

The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF recorded a decline of CNY 150 per MT from the previous day.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of October 25, 2024.

Cast Iron Scrap too reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices remained unchanged.

304 SS Solid prices were flat over the previous day.

The price of 304 SS Turning also held steady on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices edged higher by CNY 50 per MT when compared with the prior day.

310 SS scrap prices reported an increase of CNY 50 per MT as of October 25, 2024.

Shred SS prices were flat over the previous day’s price.        

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded a decline.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by CNY 50 per MT as of October 25, 2024.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices too dropped by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.
