The finalization of another meaningful customer agreement in North America is a testament to the robust beverage packaging market in the region, said Steve Fisher, president and CEO of Novelis. Aluminum beverage cans have the ability to be easily recycled back into the same product, thus making it a model of sustainable packaging, he added.
There has been a tremendous growth in customer demand for sustainable products of various sizes and varieties. Also, nowadays more beverage types are being packaged in cans. The company expects the global demand for aluminum beverage packaging sheet to grow at a 4% compounded annual growth rate between 2023 and 2031.
The new contract comes amidst the construction of the company’s new rolling and recycling plant in Bay Minette, Alabama, which will primarily serve the North American beverage packaging and automotive markets.
