SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Recycling Partnership announced that it has launched a new PET Recycling Coalition- an innovative initiative to PET circularity. The initiative will focus on various opportunities to increase recycling of PET.
The initiative aims to increase the capture of PET bottles, broadening the acceptance of PET trays, cups, and clamshells in community recycling collection programs, unlocking opportunities for new supplies of recycled PET for packaging manufacturers and strengthening recycling systems for pigmented and opaque PET.

It targets to create a thriving PET recycling system through grants, technical assistance, and knowledge sharing. It is part of The Recycling Partnership’s Pathway to Circularity initiative, which focuses on advancing the circularity of all types of packaging. Furthermore, it is supported by members representing all segments of the PET value chain.
Keefe Harrison, CEO of The Recycling Partnership said that it is dedicated to building a stronger U.S. recycling system, including material-focused efforts such as the PET Recycling Coalition. Harrison added that it encourages all companies that use PET to join the Coalition and be part of the solution.
