SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Metals recycling major Ward announced opening of its second deep sea export facility, after the Immigham dock facility that went operational in 2018. The opening of the new facility at Redcar Bulk Terminal (RBT), situated on the South Bank of the River Tees, is in line with the company’s efforts to boost bulk metal handling and export capabilities.
According to company news release, the new facility will enhance shipment of metals to Turkey, Italy and other countries of the world. The export facility is expected to generate a total of 10 jobs in the initial stage, with further additions later on.

Thomas Ward, Commercial Director, Ward noted that the facility will help in significant development of its ferrous operations, thus enabling it to expand its services to existing customers in Turkey, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and China. Also, it will further expand its capabilities to purchase, process and export ferrous metals. The proximity to renowned steelworks in the region offers logistical advantage, he added. Meantime, Shaun Casey, General Manager, RBT said that he is extremely pleased to welcome Ward to RBT.
The RBT’s direct access to the UK rail and road networks will contribute to Ward’s sustainable growth in the region.
