SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): JSW Steel announced that it has partnered with U.S.-based Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to help drive its journey to meet previously announced ambitious decarbonisation goals. It must be noted that the company targets to reduce its carbon emissions by 42% by 2029-’30, compared with 2005 baseline.

According to Seshagiri Rao, Managing Director, JSW Steel, the newly announced partnership with BCG will accelerate its journey towards meeting emission targets. It will apply latest digital and analytics technologies to keep track of, evaluate, simulate and enhance the company’s environmental performance. In addition, it will also focus on imparting additional vital skills to JSW employees and boosting the sustainability culture across its manufacturing operations, he noted.
BCG will deploy its proprietary AI carbon capture solution. This is the second strategic collaboration between the two companies. Earlier, JSW Steel and BCG had partnered on Digital Transformation project.
The deployment of sustainability initiatives across manufacturing operations will be led by a team of sustainability champions. The roadmap outlines introduction of latest techniques such as use of hydrogen and carbon capture and storage.
