SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): A huge blaze has reportedly caused serious damages to the Clearway Disposal scrap metal recycling firm site at East Twin Road in the Harbour Industrial Estate, Belfast. The latest reports indicate that the blaze has now been brought under control.
The fire, which broke out at the waste ground of the facility, was reported to emergency services shortly after 1 PM. The growing fire was attended to by six standard fire engines and five specialist fire appliances, overseen by around 50 firefighters. The heat generated by the scrap metal spread the fire, which made the task even more difficult for firefighters.
