SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Heritage Group has announced the launch of a new division, Heritage Battery Recycling (HBR), aimed at providing sustainable recycling solutions for end-of-life lithium-ion batteries. The new division will collaborate with Romeo Power, Inc, to set up a battery reuse and development plant in the southwestern region of the U.S.
The long-term sustainability collaboration offers a unique opportunity to provide a safe and environmentally sound end-of-life strategy, not only for commercial truck manufacturers and commercial fleet managers, but also for those interested in making fresh investments in clean energy. As per agreement, the Heritage Battery Recycling facility will provide turnkey solutions to safe and responsible repurposing of end-of-life batteries.

The company press release also announced the appointment of Shane Thompson-one of the world’s leading experts in the rapidly evolving lithium-ion battery recycling industry, as the President of newly formed HBR. Furthermore, it expressed the hope that Shane’s strong business relationships coupled with his deep understanding of the battery value chain will help HBR to develop as a market leader in North America.
