SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Georgia-Pacific announced its decision to undertake significant upgrade at its corrugated plant in Bradford, Pennsylvania. The company plans to invest $34 million in purchasing new equipment, aimed at modernizing the plant’s operations.
The upgrades comprise of a new corrugator machine, two new converting lines and several upgrades to the shipping department, which in turn is expected to ensure the plant’s efficient operations. The new equipment will contribute towards improvement of the plant’s throughput and print capability, thus helping it to meet customer demand in a better way, said the company news release.
Earl Wright, area general manager, Georgia-Pacific noted that the selected equipment will help it to meet the needs of customers across Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, western/central New York, and eastern New Jersey for many years to come. The upgrades will help the company to grow as a preferred partner with its customers, he added.
The preparations for installation will commence in the forthcoming months, with the first equipment expected to be installed in the initial quarter of 2023. The upgrades will take approximately 12-14 months for completion.
