SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) announced that it has begun construction of a new aluminum recycling facility next to its existing facility in Al Taweelah.
The proposed facility, considered as UAE’s largest aluminum recycling plant, will help the company boost its recycling capabilities and significantly reduce its carbon emissions. It demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

The plant will have a capacity of around 170,000 tonnes per annum and will be capable of processing both post-consumer as well as pre-consumer aluminum scrap. The plant will transform recycled aluminum into high-quality, low-carbon aluminum billets which will be marketed under the brand name RevivAL. The plant is expected to be completed within a period of three years.
Currently, UAE exports majority of its aluminum scrap for processing elsewhere, which in turn results in significant loss to national economy. The completion of the recycling facility will make EGA the largest aluminum scrap consumer in the UAE. The plant operations will contribute significantly to UAE’s economy.
The worldwide recycled aluminum demand is projected to rise significantly from 27 million metric tons in 2022 to 57 million metric tons by 2040.
