December 2, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Declined on the Index

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Monday, December 2, 2024, Chinese copper scrap prices recorded modest decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Aluminum and Brass/Bronze scrap prices dropped when compared with the previous day. Stainless Steel scrap prices also recorded decline. In the meantime, Steel scrap prices were flat on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 300 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 300 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices registered a decline of CNY 150 per MT upon comparison with the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices recorded a downward movement of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices witnessed no variation on the Index.

Cu Yokes and Harness Wire 35% Recovery scrap prices were unchanged over the previous day’s prices.

Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices inched lower by CNY 50 per MT.

Heater Cores prices declined by CNY 100 per MT as of Monday, December 2, 2024.

Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices recorded no change over the previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions declined by CNY 50 per MT in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 50 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded no variation on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by CNY 50 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT each as of December 2, 2024.

The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF were flat from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of December 2, 2024.

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were down by CNY 100 per MT.

304 SS Solid prices dropped by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day’s prices.

The price of 304 SS Turning also recorded a decline of CNY 150 per MT on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices dipped by CNY 200 per MT each when compared with the prior day.

310 SS scrap prices reported a decline of CNY 250 per MT as of December 2, 2024.

Shred SS prices also were down by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day’s price.        

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China a recorded marginal decline on the Index.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of December 2, 2024.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices witnessed decline by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.
