SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Wilmington, North Carolina-based PolyQuest Inc. announced expansion of its Darlington, South Carolina PET recycling facility. The expansion follows exponential growth in business due to rising demand for its products. The company has been producing recycled PET (rPET) at the facility since 2006.
As part of the expansion, PolyQuest plans to add four new buildings, whose total area is estimated at around 225,000 square feet. The investment will also enhance material handling capabilities at the plant. It plans to add two new rail spurs as well as new machinery to make it capable to process additional volumes of rPET. The proposed investment will add 15 jobs at the facility, with many more to be added in future.
