SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Aluminum Packaging Recycling Organization (ALUPRO) announced the proud winner of its ‘Masters of Infinity’ national education programme.
The manga comic strip by the ten-year old Sophie Mae Juguilon from St. Michael’s Catholic Primary School in Ashford won the first prize. She was presented with a brand-new iPad, along with a £1,500 voucher for her school. All shortlisted entries were given a certificate of achievement.

The programme, aimed at encouraging schools to integrate recycling into the curriculum, was launched in September last year. As part of the programme, teachers were provided with an introductory video, interactive lesson about recycling and a series of activities for children to contribute. The competition was overwhelmingly received by students, with resources downloaded more than 580 times.
Tom Giddings, interim general manager at Alupro noted that the standard of entries was exceptionally high and that it was extremely difficult to pick out the winner from among hundreds of entries. The winning entry stood out in terms of creativity and imagination. It contained several interesting facts and details of aluminum packaging recycling process, he added.
A second competition is currently underway, in which schools in Wales could compete for prizes including a Nintendo Switch Lite and a £250 book voucher for the school.
