SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The monthly data published by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) suggests that steel shipments during July this year recorded a decline when compared with the same month a year ago. However, the shipments remained more or less unchanged over the prior month.
According to AISI data, the steel mills shipped 7.161 million net tons in July 2024. This is modestly down by 4.1% upon comparison with the shipments of 7.467 million net tons in the same month a year before. Conversely, the shipments made during the month didn't really alter from the prior month. It should be mentioned that in June of this year, there were 7.152 million net tons of shipments.
