April 2, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Declined on the Index

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Chinese Copper scrap prices recorded modest decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Aluminum and Brass/Bronze scrap prices dropped when compared with the previous day. In the meantime, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 500 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 500 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices registered a decline of CNY 250 per MT upon comparison with the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices recorded a fall of CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices were down by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

Cu Yokes scrap prices also declined by CNY 50 per MT each.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady over the previous day’s prices.

Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices recorded a decline of CNY 100 per MT on the Index.

Heater Cores prices declined by CNY 200 per MT as of Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices witnessed decline by CNY 50 per MT each over the previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions declined by CNY 50 per MT in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 50 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded no variation on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by CNY 50 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT each as of April 2, 2025.

The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF were flat from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of April 2, 2025.

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were flat on the Index.

304 SS Solid prices held steady over the previous day’s prices.

The price of 304 SS Turning also recorded no change on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices witnessed no variation when compared with the prior day.

310 SS scrap prices were flat as of April 2, 2025.

Shred SS prices held steady over the previous day’s price.        

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded decline on the Index.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by CNY 50 per MT as of April 2, 2025.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices also recorded decline by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.
