March 19, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Up Slightly on the Index

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese Aluminum and Stainless Steel scrap prices witnessed no change on ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Copper and Brass/Bronze scrap prices were up from the previous day. Meanwhile, Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were up by CNY 600 per MT.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing price saw a jump of CNY 600 per MT.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 600 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were up by CNY 300 per MT over the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery witnessed a minor increase of CNY 100 per MT when compared with the day before.

Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiators prices inched higher by CNY 100 per MT over the day.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were flat upon comparison with the previous day.

Heater Cores prices recorded an increase of CNY 250 per MT on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices witnessed no change on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions recorded no variation in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots also remained unchanged.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers saw no variation.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices were unmoved on the Index.

Old Cast prices were flat on March 19, 2025.

The prices of Old Sheets and UBC held steady on the Index.

Zorba 90% INF prices saw no change from the previous day.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady on March 19, 2025.

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were flat on the Index.

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices were unchanged on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices recorded no variation when compared with the prior day.

310 SS scrap prices also held steady as of March 19, 2025.

Shred SS prices witnessed no change over the previous day.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded increase from the previous day.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were up by CNY 50 per MT as of Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices recorded an increase of CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.
