Century Aluminum Fined for Multiple EPA Violations
The tests performed between March 2021 and June 2023 proved that the plant exceeded emission limits more than a dozen times.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Due to EPA infractions, an aluminum company in Berkeley County has been penalized.
The Mount Holly facility of Century Aluminum received a citation for failing many pollution tests. The factory breached emission restrictions more than a dozen times, according to tests conducted between March 2021 and June 2023.
Within 30 days, the business must begin documenting all maintenance and inspection checks. It is necessary to accurately document any shortcomings found and any remedial measures implemented. To make sure it meets the 12-month rolling average pollution limit, Century Aluminum has been given until August of this year.
