December 18, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Declined on the Index
Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Chinese copper scrap prices recorded modest decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Brass/Bronze scrap prices dropped when compared with the previous day. Stainless Steel scrap prices also recorded decline. In the meantime, Aluminum and Steel scrap prices were flat on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 400 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 400 per MT each.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices registered a decline of CNY 200 per MT upon comparison with the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices recorded a downward movement of CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.
Copper Transformer scrap prices witnessed no variation on the Index.
Cu Yokes and Harness Wire 35% Recovery scrap prices were unchanged over the previous day’s prices.
Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices inched lower by CNY 100 per MT.
Heater Cores prices declined by CNY 100 per MT as of Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices recorded no change over the previous day.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions saw no change in prices over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were flat on the Index.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded no variation on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices witnessed no change.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices held steady as of December 18, 2024.
The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF were flat from the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of December 18, 2024.
Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were flat on a daily basis.
304 SS Solid prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day’s prices.
The price of 304 SS Turning also recorded a decline of CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices dipped by CNY 100 per MT each when compared with the prior day.
310 SS scrap prices reported a decline of CNY 150 per MT as of December 18, 2024.
Shred SS prices also were down by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day’s price.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China a recorded marginal decline on the Index.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of December 18, 2024.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices witnessed decline by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.
