December 4, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Moved Up on the Index

Cast Iron Scrap too reported no change in prices.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices recorded increase on the ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Copper Scrap prices were up from the previous day. Also, Stainless Steel and Brass/Bronze scrap prices edged higher on the Index. In contrast, Steel scrap prices held steady when compared with the previous day’s price.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were up by CNY 450 per MT.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing saw price rise of CNY 450 per MT.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 450 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices edged higher by CNY 200 per MT over the previous day. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery were up by CNY 100 per MT when compared with the day before.

Copper Transformer scrap prices remained flat over the previous day. Cu Yokes prices also were unchanged on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices inched higher by CNY 100 per MT.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady over the previous day’s price.

Heater Cores were up by CNY 150 per MT as of Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed a rise of CNY 150 per MT over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots prices too were up by CNY 150 per MT.

Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers increased by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched higher by CNY 150 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices jumped higher by CNY 150 per MT each as of December 4, 2024.

Also, UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices increased by CNY 50 per MT each over the previous day’s prices.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of December 4, 2024.

Cast Iron Scrap too reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were up by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices also increased by CNY 150 per MT each on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid scrap prices edged higher by CNY 250 per MT when compared with the prior day.

310 SS prices increased by CNY 300 per MT as of December 4, 2024.

Shred SS prices recorded an increase of CNY 150 per MT on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China reported marginal increase from the previous day.

Brass Radiator scrap prices inched higher by CNY 50 per MT as of December 4, 2024.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were also up by CNY 100 per MT each over the previous day.
