October 23, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Displayed Mixed Trend on the Index

Copper Transformer scrap and Cu Yokes prices recorded no variation on the Index.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices inched higher on ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Brass/Bronze and Copper Scrap prices registered decline from the previous day. In contrast, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady from the previous day.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 450 per MT.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing saw a price decline of CNY 450 per MT.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also were down by CNY 450 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices edged lower by CNY 200 per MT over the previous day. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded decline by CNY 50 per MT when compared with the day before.

Copper Transformer scrap and Cu Yokes prices recorded no variation on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiator and Heater Cores prices recorded decline by CNY 50 per MT and CNY 150 per MT respectively over the previous day’s price.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were flat as of Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed a rise of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots prices too were up by CNY 50 per MT.

Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers witnessed no change in prices on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched higher by CNY 50 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices increased by CNY 50 per MT each as of October 23, 2024.

UBC and Zorba 90%NF witnessed no variation each over the previous day’s prices.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of October 23, 2024.

Cast Iron Scrap too reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were unchanged over the day.

Also, 304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices also were flat on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid scrap prices held steady when compared with the prior day.

310 SS prices recorded no variation as of October 23, 2024.

Shred SS prices also witnessed no change on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China edged lower from the previous day’s prices.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were unchanged as of October 23, 2024.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT each over the day.
