October 21, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Witnessed Notable Jump on the Index
Also, UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices increased by CNY 100 per MT each over the previous day.
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices recorded notable increase on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Monday, October 21, 2024. Copper Scrap prices also were up from the previous day. Stainless Steel and Brass/Bronze scrap prices edged higher on the Index. In contrast, Steel scrap prices held steady when compared with the previous day’s price.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were up by CNY 600 per MT.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing saw price rise of CNY 600 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 600 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices edged higher by CNY 300 per MT over the previous day. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery were up by CNY 100 per MT when compared with the day before.
Copper Transformer scrap prices increased by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day. Cu Yokes prices also were up by CNY 50 per MT on Index.
Cu/Al Radiator and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices inched higher by CNY 100 per MT and CNY 50 per MT respectively over the day.
Heater Cores were up by CNY 200 per MT as of Monday, October 21, 2024.
In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions witnessed a rise of CNY 250 per MT over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots prices too were up by CNY 250 per MT.
Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers increased by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched higher by CNY 250 per MT.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices jumped higher by CNY 250 per MT each as of October 21, 2024.
Also, UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices increased by CNY 100 per MT each over the previous day.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of October 21, 2024.
Cast Iron Scrap too reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were unchanged over the previous day.
304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices also were flat on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid scrap prices edged higher by CNY 50 per MT when compared with the prior day.
310 SS prices increased by CNY 100 per MT as of October 21, 2024.
Shred SS prices recorded no variation on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded marginal rise from the previous day.
Brass Radiator scrap prices increased by CNY 50 per MT as of October 21, 2024.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices also were up by CNY 100 per MT each over the day.
