BIR to Debate Global Trends and Regional Impacts on Stainless Steel and Special Alloys

According to BIR, demand for stainless steel fell short of forecasts in the last quarter of 2024, particularly in Europe.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The global trends and regional effects on the sector will be covered in the plenary session on stainless steel and special alloys at the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) World Recycling Convention, which will take place in Singapore. Many industry experts will be present at the event, which is anticipated to offer a thorough examination of the most recent opportunities and problems facing the global market.

According to BIR, demand for stainless steel fell short of forecasts in the last quarter of 2024, particularly in Europe. Numerous factors have affected the production and pricing, such as the increase in nickel prices, the surge in slab and nickel pig iron imports, and the shift in demand in other markets such as China, India, and the U.S.

Sachin Shetty, CEO of Quesrow Consulting (IND) will give a presentation with the title “2024 and beyond: Key influences on the Indian stainless steel market”. Vegas Yang, CEO of HSKU Raw Material (Taiwan, CHN) will provide an outlook on the stainless steel markets in Asia.

Joost Van Kleef, the chairman of the committee, will examine market trends and projections for stainless steel in Europe. A summary of the most recent BIR World Mirror on Stainless Steel & Special Alloys will also be presented by Omar Al Sharif, Director of Sharif Metals Group.
