SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The upcoming Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) Convention to be held in Singapore on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 will focus on green steel revolution.
Shane Mellor, Divisional President of Mellor Metals Ltd., will chair a session organized by the BIR Ferrous Division that will emphasize the need of recycled metals for a future low-carbon economy. The discussion will focus on potential strategies for the sector to shift to a more environmentally friendly production method.
The session features two distinguished guest speakers- Adina Renee Adler, Executive Director of the Global Steel Climate Council and Patrick Davison, Director of Sustainability at European Metal Recycling (GBR). They will share their thoughts on the potential use of recycled materials and innovative technologies in achieving near-zero emissions in steel production.
A panel discussion with distinguished divisional board members will conclude the session, which will also include an update on BIR's recycled steel statistics by Rolf Willleke.
Leaders in the industry and recyclers from around the world are anticipated to attend the Convention.
