World Steel Association Announced Shortlist for 15th Steelie Awards

The winner of the “Innovation of the year” category will be selected from among JFE Steel Corporation, POSCO Holdings, and Ternium.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced the shortlist of 15th Steelie Awards. The final winners will be announced on Monday, October 14, 2024.

The five shortlisted companies in “Excellence in low carbon steel production” category are ArcelorMittal, China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited, JSW Steel Limited, POSCO Holdings, and Shougang Group.

The winner of the “Innovation of the year” category will be selected from among JFE Steel Corporation, POSCO Holdings, and Ternium.

The shortlist for “Excellence in sustainability” award comprises of Aceros AZA S.A, Gerdau S.A, HBIS Group Co. Ltd, Nucor Corporation, POSCO Holdings, and Tenaris.

The entries from ArcelorMittal, China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited, HYUNDAI Steel Company, JFE Steel Corporation, JSW Steel Limited, Nippon Steel Corporation, and Tata Steel are among those that have made it to the shortlist for the 'Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment' category.

The winner of the “Excellence in education and training” award will be decided from among entries by HBIS Group Co. Ltd., Indian Iron & Steel Sector Skill Council (IISSSC), POSCO Holdings, Tata Steel and Ternium.

The shortlist for “Excellence in communications programmes” comprises of ArcelorMittal, HBIS Group Co. Ltd, Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), JSW Steel Limited, POSCO Holdings, Tata Steel, Ternium and United States Steel Corporation (USS).
