September 18, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Posted Marginal Jump on the Index
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing saw price rise of CNY 400 per MT.
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices went higher on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Copper Scrap prices too were up from the previous day. Brass/Bronze scrap prices edged higher on the Index. In contrast, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices recorded no change compared with the previous day’s prices.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were up marginally by CNY 400 per MT.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing saw a price rise of CNY 400 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 400 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices edged higher by CNY 200 per MT over the previous day. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery was up by CNY 50 per MT when compared with the day before.
Copper Transformer scrap prices were flat over the previous day. Cu Yokes prices too held steady on the Index.
Cu/Al Radiator and Heater Cores prices inched higher by CNY 50 per MT and CNY 100 per MT respectively over the day.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices recorded no change as of Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices were flat on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions witnessed a rise of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots prices too were up by CNY 50 per MT.
Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers prices were flat on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched higher by CNY 50 per MT.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices jumped higher by CNY 50 per MT each as of Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
In the meantime, UBC and Zorba 90%NF prices were flat over the day.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of September 18, 2024.
Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were unchanged over the previous day.
304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices recorded no change on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid scrap prices also were flat when compared with the prior day.
310 SS prices saw no change as of Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Shred SS prices also held steady on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded marginal rise from the previous day.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of September 18, 2024.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were up by CNY 50 per MT each over the day.
