IP Appointed Andy Silvernail as the New Chairman of its Board of Directors

Silvernail has over two decades of experience leading global companies including KKR & Co., Inc., and Madison Industries.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): International Paper announced that it has selected Andy Silvernail as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors. Silvernail will also serve as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company effective October this year. Also, Mark Sutton, who has been serving as the Chairman since his retirement as CEO in May 2024, will retire from the Board effective September 30, 2024.

Chris Connor, Lead Director of International Paper, expressed gratitude to Mark on behalf of the Board of Directors for his many years of service to the firm and for his leadership as Chairman and CEO. Connor said that during Mark's employment, the company's balance sheet has strengthened significantly.

He also expressed his gratitude to Andy for accepting the position of Chairman of the Board after only four months with the company.

Silvernail has over two decades of experience leading global companies including KKR & Co., Inc., and Madison Industries. Before that, he served as Chairman and CEO of IDEX Corporation for almost a decade. Before that, he also held executive positions at Rexnord Industries, Newell Rubbermaid, and Danaher Corporation. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of Stryker Corporation.
