SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Smurfit Kappa- the leading European corrugated packaging company announced launch of its new SupplySmart digital solution to help businesses streamline their packaging so as to boost efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions across supply chains.

The new digital solution by the company is aimed at tackling rising supply chain complexities and uncertainties. It has been developed after thorough analysis of more than 100,000 supply chains across the world.

One of the companies to adopt the SupplySmart solution is Henkel- the leading Germany-based consumer goods company.

In partnership with Smurfit Kappa, the company has launched a compact and sustainable paper-based alternative to plastic packaging. The new dishwasher tablet pack by Henkel has helped in reducing packaging volume by 66% and carbon dioxide emissions during transport by approximately 44%. The sustainable tablet pack is easy to handle and store. Moreover, it is 100% recyclable too.

Gerard van den Boogaard, Smurfit Kappa Supply Chain Innovation Director stated that the company’s  enhanced SupplySmart digital tool provides its customers with a risk-free solution for realising efficiencies and improvements across their supply chain, thereby helping them to respond to market opportunities in a better way.
