Novelis Reached Agreement to Extend Airbus Collaboration

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Novelis Inc. announced renewal of its ongoing contract with Airbus. Both the companies has been engaged in partnership with each other for more than three decades now.

According to company press release, the extension of the contract with Airbus allows for supply of wingskins, plates and sheets to it from the company’s sites in Koblenz, Germany, and Zhenjiang, China. Novelis will supply Airbus with plates and sheets, as well as wingskins especially for the A320 aircraft family.

The company official noted that wingskins require the highest-grade materials and precision machining, thus making it a product of high demand. The Koblenz plant has the capability to deliver high-quality aluminum products to Airbus. In addition, the Zhenjiang plant too is well-equipped to fulfil the need for wingskins, he added.

Steve Fisher, President and CEO, Novelis Inc. noted that the agreement enhances the long-term partnership between the two companies and reinforces its leading role in providing innovative aluminum products and solutions for the commercial aerospace industry. Novelis is excited to continue working with Airbus, he said.

Novelis’ Zhenjiang and Koblenz sites possess all necessary certifications to supply the aviation industry.
