Greendot Collaborates with Synextra to Boost Plastic Recycling

It targets to formulate a series of industrial scale solutions for both chemical and mechanical recycling of plastics.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Greendot and Synextra have announced a strategic partnership to boost global plastic recycling markets. The new collaboration will combine their expertise and infrastructure. It will prepare feedstock for chemical recycling and mechanically-recycled commodities.

The partnership aims to deliver recycling solutions for the widest range of plastics possible, especially focusing on waste streams that does not fit into mechanical recycling. It targets to formulate a series of industrial scale solutions for both chemical and mechanical recycling of plastics.

Laurent Auguste, Group CEO, Greendot said that the company, in collaboration with Synextra, hopes to close the loop for difficult-to-recycle plastics packaging. The joint efforts are likely to enhance sorting activities, thus improving the quality of plastics recycling. As part of the plan, the project intends to establish recycling plants in major European economies, Auguste added.

Fabio Mosca, CEO, Synextra noted that the company is proud to be part of the Greendot team and is looking forward for further the development and growth in the circular plastics space. The company is already supplying feedstock to some of the major chemical recycling plants in Europe, Mosca said.
