Smurfit Kappa Hosts Summit to Discuss Sustainability Growth Initiatives

The event, organised on the sidelines of the 30-year anniversary of the Single European Market, held discussions on a wide range of topics including energy transition, climate change and innovation.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Smurfit Kappa hosted a gathering of world business leaders in Dublin, to discuss initiatives aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the European region in boosting sustainable growth initiatives, creation of jobs and prosperity. The top European business leaders were welcomed by Tony Smurfit, Group Chief Executive, Smurfit Kappa.

The event, organised on the sidelines of the 30-year anniversary of the Single European Market, held discussions on a wide range of topics including energy transition, climate change and innovation. The event comprised of a meeting with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar at Dublin Castle and a session with Paschal Donohoe, President of the Eurogroup and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform.

The participants of the event included CEOs and Chairs from global industry leaders including Airbus, Ericsson, GSK, Heineken, Iberdrola and Saint-Gobain.

Addressing the event, Tony Smurfit noted that he is honoured to host European business leaders at the European Round Table for Industry (ERT) plenary session. The business are critical to unleash Europe’s full potential to bring economic and social benefits while delivering the green transition, he added.
