SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): South Carolina-based Domtar Corporation announced that its Kingsport Mill has resumed production. As per company press release, the mill produced its first 100% recycling containerboard.
The mill has been undergoing a two-year conversion project, aimed at converting it from an uncoated freesheet paper mill into 100% recycled packaging plant. The company had spent around $350 million towards the conversion project. The reopening of the facility marks the culmination of the historic conversion project.
