AF&PA Promoted Andrew Topps as Vice President

Topps will be responsible for AF&PA’s legal affairs and governance issues and providing overall direction of the association.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Washington-based The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) announced the promotion of Andrew Topps as the organization’s next Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary with effect from 1st September this year. It follows retirement of Jan Poling from the above posts.

Topps will be responsible for AF&PA’s legal affairs and governance issues and providing overall direction of the association.

Topp has been part of its legal team since 2010. He currently serves as Deputy General Counsel. Prior to joining AF&PA, he has represented private law firm clients in federal and state agency antitrust investigations and litigations for a period of nine years. Before that, he has spent almost three years with the Federal Trade Commission. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia.

Commenting on the appointment, Heidi Brock, President and CEO, AF&PA said that Andrew is an excellent choice to continue leading AF&PA’s legal team. His skills, experience and leadership make him the person best suited to take on this important role, he added. Furthermore, Brock recollected that Jan has been an incredible leader throughout her 15 years of service to AF&PA and wished her the very best.
