AF&PA Announced Appointment of New Board Chair

The election took place during the virtual meeting of the association's Winter Board of Directors’ Meeting held 3rd February, 2022.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) announced that it has elected Georgia-Pacific LLC, President and CEO Christian Fischer as its new Board Chair. The trade association also released its 2022 slate of AF&PA Board Officers. The election took place during the virtual meeting of the association's Winter Board of Directors’ Meeting held 3rd February, 2022.

Commenting on the appointment, Heidi Brock, President and CEO, AF&PA noted that Christian’s leadership will prove essential to the wood and paper industry’s sustainability and advocacy success. The Association will continue to partner with its members to work on policies that help the growth of the industry, thereby creating more number of U.S. manufacturing jobs, Brock added.

Meantime, Fischer noted that he is enthusiastic to be part of the dynamic association. As leaders in sustainability, AF&PA will continue to innovate and work to responsibly meet the needs of society, he added.

The other elected leaders include Brian McPheely, Global CEO, Pratt Industries, Inc. (First Vice Chair) and Howard Coker, President & CEO, Sonoco Products Company (Second Vice Chair) and Mike Doss, President & CEO, Graphic Packaging International (Immediate Past Chair).
