AF&PA Released Latest U.S. Printing-Writing Paper Statistics

The shipments of uncoated free sheet (UFS) increased 4%, compared to November 2020.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its November 2021 Printing-Writing monthly report.

The total printing-writing paper shipments in November this year recorded marginal increase by 1%, compared to November 2020. The U.S. purchases of printing-writing paper registered a jump by 9% during the month year-on-year. The inventory levels witnessed 2% dip over the prior month.

The shipments of uncoated free sheet (UFS) increased 4%, compared to November 2020. The UFS imports and exports witnessed surge by 17% and 4% respectively, when compared with the prior month. The inventory level was down by 4%.

The U.S, purchases of coated free sheet (CFS) papers increased by 15% year-on-year, whereas the inventory level increased 2% month-on-month. CFS imports skyrocketed by 63%, while exports were down significantly by 13%. Meantime, the coated mechanical (CM) paper shipments dropped 27% from November 2020 and the inventory level dropped by 1% from October 2021.

According to AF&PA report, the U.S. purchases of uncoated mechanical (UM) papers witnessed a rise by 21% year-on-year in November this year. The inventory level too was up by 2%. The imports and exports of UM were up by 5% and 49% respectively over the prior year.
