AF&PA Hailed Signing of Infrastructure Bill Into Law
The legislation addresses several key infrastructure priorities for AF&PA.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Forest and Paper Association (AF&PA) commended President Biden for signing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law. In response, the association president and CEO Heidi Brock issued a statement welcoming the development.
The AF&PA statement hailed the President and the U.S. Congress for their works on the Infrastructure Bill. The historic effort will help in modernizing the nation’s infrastructure, boosting investment in U.S. manufacturing jobs and building a more sustainable future for its countrymen, it said. AF&PA looks forward to work in partnership with the administration to strengthen manufacturing and supply chains and to contribute to the broader circular economy, it added.

The legislation addresses several key infrastructure priorities for AF&PA. These include reforms that emphasize safety, efficiency and workforce development and investment in clean energy transmission. Also, the RECYCLE Act, which introduces a new grant program to offer recycling education to consumers, will significantly benefit the paper industry, AF&PA said.
