GFG Alliance Signed European Works Council Agreement

The creation of EWC will foster positive social dialogue between the management and trade unions across the European region.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): GFG Alliance declared that it has signed the GFG Alliance European Works Council (EWC) Agreement, after conclusion of negotiations with the Special Negotiation Body of representatives from across Europe. This is considered as a major step forward in the company’s European industrial relations. The agreement was facilitated by Industriall Europe- the European union federation that represents members of nearly 200 European trade unions.

The EWC agreement, covering more than 18,000 company employees spread across 10 European countries, including the UK and North Macedonia, was signed on behalf of the company by Sanjeev Gupta, Executive Chairman and Denise Timns, Chief HR Officer of GFG Alliance.

The creation of EWC will foster positive social dialogue between the management and trade unions across the European region. The Council will meet once in every two years. It will provide GFG with valuable opportunity to achieve its business goals based on mutual trust and dialogue.

Denise Timns thanked all at the Special Negotiation Body and Industriall Europe for working closely with the company to bring the important agreement to life. The company looks forward to meet with the EWC to work collaboratively on pan-European issues, he added.
